Ink used for digital printing is one of the most precious substances in the world. A single gallon of ink costs over four thousand dollars and this is one reason why digitally printed books are so expensive.
However, the price of a book is not calculated according to the amount of ink used in its production. For example, a Lulu book of blank pages costs an artist as much to produce as a book filled with text or large photographs. Furthermore, as the number of pages increases, the price of each page decreases. Errata contains 24 pages of the pen-and-ink drawings, plus assorted captions and aphorisms. Tangential from main-stream panel cartoons, the point of many of these drawings is as much about the conventions of graphical language as about human folly. The pages are printed in black ink on white 20-pound bond paper - the type of paper used in copy machines at your corner quick-print shop. But the lithographic ink used is more permanent than the toner used in electrostatic processes. The 2-color cover, on cover stock, is also offset lithography.

The Bermuda Love-Triangle, from 1988, is Tom Grothus's most elaborate production. The printing is all offset-lithography on quality stock. The black, red, and yellow cover includes some spot varnish highlights. The 24 leaves inside are printed in blue and black ink, for 48 pages of content. Interspersed among the pen-and-ink drawings are several beautiful duotones of pencil and ball-point-pen drawings. Some of the images in this book are like those of a dream that haunts you with an elusive meaning. The common literary thread throughout is a list of various proposed freedoms, such as the "Freedom to Obey Puppets." These may fill in some of the gaps left in the U.S. Constitution by that nation's founding fathers. "Odessa Staircase Redux" is a kind of flipbook revisiting the well-known film sequence from Sergei Eisenstein's "Battleship Potemkin." The first frame of every cut is drawn in black ink by hand. The ensuing series of 158 ink drawings is organized to form a typology of camera angles and subject matter that in turn creates a new animation of the scene in the mind of the viewer. The book comes with a 16-pages saddle-stitched bonus booklet of archival films stills depicting a protest by UC Berkeley students against a House Un-American Committee meeting at San Francisco City Hall in 1961.

75 g/m² started as a black and white photocopy exhibition. The project was initiated by Maycec, a photographer, self-publisher and graphic designer who draws inspiration from alternative culture and her personal life. She is co-founder of Vesselroom Project and Atelier29. The first 75 g/m² exhibition took place in Berlin in 2014 with Maycec alongside Vonverhille and Damien Sayer whom both grew up in the suburbs of Paris. Vonverhille started in the graffiti scene in the 90s. He diversified his means of expression and explored photography and experimental electronic music. He now lives in Berlin where he founded Erratum galerie. Damien Sayer has photographed his family, friends and encounters over the course of five years. His small format pictures remain simple documentary pages, simple facts or portraits recorded on a sheet of paper. Alizee Lenox joined the exhibitions 75 g/m2 part II and part III. She is a poet DeepLy influenced by Pop Culture mostly because you cannot not be influenced by a soft machine that creates so many idols you can hate and worship at the same time. She is currently working on her first chapbook manuscript.

Since the beginning, the ARTZINES project was supposed to be a book. The 12 zines published and the website were only preparation for that. This issue 12,5 is the description of what the book would look like. Writing that book was supposed to be my main focus for 2020 but nothing happened as planned.

Ich sammelte die Transkripte aller seit 2015 geführten Interviews, um sie zu lesen. Da einige Leute an diesem unverblümten Textdokument interessiert waren, begann ich, es auf Anfrage zu drucken.
